Become a Member

Keen to compete and want to race?  Or perhaps take part in a Cyclo Sportief, become a Race Official, or Coach?  Through it’s affiliation with Cycling Australia, Norwood Cycling Club offers three broad types of membership:

  • Ride (SILVER) – For recreational cyclists (Adult, Junior, Seniors & KIDZ).
  • Race (GOLD) – For racing cyclists (categories by age from Juniors to Masters and everything in between).
  • Platinum – For non-racing supporters, coaches, officials and administrators.

HOW TO JOIN

First decide on which membership type is best for you (read on below), and then…

Follow this link to the Cycling Australia online Membership HQ

  1. Select “Cycling SA” as your Sate
  2. Select “Norwood CC” as your Club
  3. Click “Next”
  4. Choose the membership type you have decided upon
  5. Then follow the prompts to enter your details and make payment via credit card

And then… welcome to Norwood Cycling Club!  You will receive an email from Cycling Australia and the Club Secretary, confirming your membership and payment, and containing your license number and type.
This email will serve as your temporary proof of membership and license, until your permanent membership card arrives in the mail (within approx 4 weeks). Please print and take this email with you to all races – no license, no race!


MEMBERSHIP TYPES

Ride SILVER

  • a recreational, non-competitive membership option – a great way to get started!
  • participate in time trials, recreational and charity fun rides, Cyclo Sportief and Grand Fondo events, and selected skill and training events (e.g. training on the track at the Superdrome, Gepps Cross)
  • 12 month license, available on a quarterly basis with four renewal dates each year (31 March, 30 June, 30 September and 31 December) – join midway through a renewal period and your licence will be eligible for the remainder of that period and the next twelve months (e.g. if you join on October 1 your membership will be valid until 31 December of the next year)
  • 24/7 insurance coverage on the bike, including personal accident, public liability & loss of income cover. Please refer here for more information

Race GOLD

  • want to race the Crits, compete on the road or go for gold on the track? This is the license for you!
  • a full competitive racing licence – eligible to participate in races conducted by Cycling Australia and its affiliated states and clubs – not just in SA, but Australia wide.
  • membership category is based upon age – check here to determine your category based upon year of birth
  • membership is renewable annually and covers the calendar year (1 January to 31 December) in line with the International Cycling Union’s (UCI) requirements (licences purchased after 1 October are valid until December 31 of the following year)
  • 24/7 insurance coverage on the bike, including personal accident, public liability & loss of income cover. Please refer here for more information

PLATINUM

  • a membership option for coaches, officials and administrators not looking to compete, but still wanting to get involved in the action!
  • provides non-competitive membership for a minimal charge and includes professional indemnity insurance cover
  • renewable annually and covers the calendar year (1 January to 31 December) in line with the International Cycling Union’s (UCI) requirements. However licences purchased after 1 October are valid until December 31 of the following year

TEMPORARY 3-RACE PERMIT

  • a great option if you’re not sure if racing is for you and want to try it out!
  • purchase on race day or online
  • eligible to participate in “Club”  events i.e. those events organised and promoted by Norwood Cycling Club e.g. the Criterium Racing held at Victoria Park
  • Possible to upgrade to a full membership with the cost of the 3-race permit credited to the relevant full membership fee
