HOT WEATHER POLICY

This Policy applies to ROAD RACES & CRITERIUM RACES

1 Cancellation of events

6.00pm events
If at Midday, 12.00pm, the forecast displayed at
http://www.weatherzone.com.au/sa/adelaide/adelaide/detailed-forecast on race day predicts the temperature at 6.00pm to be 37degrees or over then the racing will be cancelled.

AM held events
If at 6.00am, the forecast displayed at http://www.weatherzone.com.au/sa/adelaide/adelaide/detailed-forecast on race day predicts the temperature at Midday, 12.00pm to be 37 degrees or over then the racing will be cancelled.

PM held events
If at 9.00am, the forecast displayed at
http://www.weatherzone.com.au/sa/adelaide/adelaide/detailed-forecast on race day predicts the temperature at 3.00pm to be 37degrees or over then the racing will be cancelled.

For club run events this notification is to be displayed as soon as practicable after the forecast time on the club website or Facebook site.

For CSA run events, this is to be displayed as soon as practicable after the forecast time on the CSA website.

2 Modification of events

Racing may be modified, by the Chief Commissaire, on any race day, where the forecast temperature to be between 32 and 37 degrees.
Racing will continue as normal on any race day where the Bureau of Meteorology forecast the temperature to be less than 32 degrees, the Chief Commissaire may however modify the racing to minimise the chances of a rider suffering heat stress.

3 Responsibilities

It is the Riders responsibility to ensure that they use sunscreen, shade & drink plenty of water & carry plenty of water with them for the event they are competing in.
